To understand whether or not an obesity epidemic exists, one has to define obesity and determine what suggests an epidemic. BMI less than 18.5 is recognized as underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 is within normal weight and is categorized as a healthy weight, 25 to 29.9 is overweight, 30 to 34.9 is mild obesity, 35 to 39.9 is moderate obesity, and 40 and over is severe obesity (Akabas, Lederman, Moore, 2012; Jones, 2006; NIH, 2015; Reville, 2006). He also started taking ideas from everyone before taking any decision. His nature changed, he became friendly, cooperative and cooperative and his level of neuroticism also increased. He never used to encourage feedback from his employees and used to discourage them by non verbal eye rolling and negative comments about their ideas. He was also head strong and could not take criticism (Merchant, 2012). In Netflix Democratic Stylewas used, as in Netflix Hastings used a more participative style. In this style he started directing employees with this he also started taking feedback from the employees and encouraging and motivating them. Power is the control of influence and authority over others. Power can either have a positive or negative result in an organization, depending on how it is used. There are five sources of power which are coercive power, referent power, legitimate power, expert power and reward power. In this case power is not discussed directly but from the case we can say that as Reed Hastings was CEO of the company, he had a legitimate power, a power which each and every CEO has. Legitimate power is a positional power which was very effectively used by Reed Hastings. When Hastings was CEO of Pure Softwares he used Coercive Power over his employees, as in the case study it is said that Hastings used to criticize his employees for their dumb ideas and used methods like rolling his eyes, Coercive Power is mostly used by autocratic leaders. Nothing much is said about the other powers used by Hastings. Organizational politics is the use of influenceand social networking within an organization to attain modifications that profits the organization or individuals in it. Does the GEICO Gecko Need a Grammar Lesson Today I heard a GEICO commercial that included a line something like this: To show our appreciation, call within the next 15 minutes This sentence contains a grammatical error!   Was it intentional? The thing is, these sorts of sentences are all-too-common in the writing I see every day.   GEICO might have intended this one, or the error may have been an oversight   but many of my clients make these errors frequently and unintentionally. You may be saying to yourself, WHAT grammatical error?   Looks okay to me! Let me explain. Take a look at the the first half of GEICOs sentence: To show OUR [Geicos] appreciation Ask yourself, who is the natural subject of this sentence?   What would naturally follow from the first half of the sentence?   If you think carefully, youll see that it would be something relating to whom? To GEICO of course!   GEICO is the natural subject of the sentence. A grammatically correct sentence might read, To show our appreciation, we are offering you a NEW CAR with FREE insurance for the vehicles lifetime! Now *that* would be a great sentence.   Yes, I like that sentence. Another alternative would be to write a different first half of the sentence that would naturally lead toward making the customer the subject of the sentence.   For instance: To show YOUR appreciation, call us within the next 15 minutes and tell us how adorable the gecko is! Id call to praise the gecko in an instant.   Hes pretty cute.   And he gives great car insurance.   If he looked at me just right with those beady little eyes, Id probably even forgive him for having his grammar a little mixed up. Felonies can be considered as a felony under various circumstances, and a convicted felon can only be convicted by a person of legal authority such as a judge (Eisenstein and Jacob, 1991). In this paper, the researcher would like to discuss the reasons regarding preferred characteristics of a potential employee. In the case of felons who decide to join the workforce after serving their time in prison, the researcher would like to investigate how the human resource department in organizations deal with such cases, should they decide to hire a felon. Naturally, hiring a previously convicted criminal can affect an organization’s operations, so companies must be extremely cautious in such cases. For instance, planning employee activities might have to be planned in a different way, or controlling such employees might have to be done in a different manner. The researcher would like to investigate social views on such a controversial topic, and also what can be done to help these felons find their own niche in the workforce. In 2007, reports were made that there are en estimate of 2 million convicted persons in prison serving their time.
